What is a domain name?
Your domain name is your virtual Internet address, or URL (Universal Resource Locator). For example

Do you handle domain registration for me?

How long does it take to get my account activated?
Generally we activate your account within 5 mins. of the time your request is received. But in any case new
accounts takes 24 hours to resolve.
Are there any set-up fees?
No. There is a no Setup Fee of any kind or no hidden cost all the prices for all packages are available on
site itself.
How do I transfer files to my Web site ?
Files can be transferred to the Web server via File Transport Protocol (FTP). If you need FTP software, you
can download a program for either PC or Mac from various site There are various ftp sotwares like - Coffee
Cup, Cute Ftp etc. You even use your internet browser itself for ftp or can use FrontPage as all accounts
come with FrontPage extensions installed. We provide 24/7 FTP support for all our accounts.
Do you provide control panel to manage web site features?
YES, we provide every web site a control panel of its own. You can access your web site control panel from
our Hosting Login Link. For standard servers you need to inform us prior your hosting setup that whether you
need a control panel.

Can my POP accounts be xyz@myname.com?
Yes. In fact, you can have as many POP accounts as your need within your domain name and within all of the
domains you host.
Can I forward all of the email from my domain to one email account?
Yes. You can create an account called catchall. That is the account that email will go to if the email is
sent to an account name within the domain that does not exist.
Do I get the ability to set a subdirectory as password protected, and then maintain the list
of user id's and passwords?
Yes, you can do that using our web control panel for unix servers. On windows servers you can do this with
ASP coding.
Can I set this up so www.mydomain.com and mydomain.com both map to the same place?
By default www.domain.com and domain.com always map to the same place.
Can I set it up so that subdomain.mydomain.com would map to a different
subdirectory?
You can map subdomain.domain.com and somethingelse.com to other URL subdirectories within your account. That
functionality is handled through the web control panel.
How can my clients change their email account passwords?
The clients have their own control panel to make changes to their passwords, although the reseller also has
ability to do the same.
Do you guarantee a certain level of uptime?
No, we do not guarantee any specific quality of service. Our web service uptime is currently 99.98%.
How long does it typically take for a site to 'go live' after I register the domain with
Internic and set up the domain at Amitech India?
When you set up a domain at Amitech India, it is set up immediately on our main server. The Server
configuration details are acquired from the main server four times a day, so it can take up to 6 hours for
the c servers to grab the details for the new domain. Internic generally takes 24-48 hours to get new domains
ready. Sometimes Internic will take longer than that, but most of the time Internic gets new domain ready in
24-48 hours.
Is there any way to have a cgi-bin for each domain under my account?
Yes, every domain you host at Amitech India can have its own cgi-bin. When you create a new domain using the
web control panel, the web control panel adds a cgi-bin mapping for the new site. All you need to do to use
the cgi-bin mapping is create the physical cgi-bin directory in the directory that the new site is mapped
to.
How do you handle customer support?
We request all support issues to be submitted in writing either via e-mail, Support requests may be submitted

How long does it take to get my questions answered?
